I don't generally like to discuss religion in public for many reasons. But today I'm making an exception based on my discussion with my daughter.
Here it is...
Augustine: Mummy, when you think of God, what do you picture?
As I was in the middle of helping my oldest with her homework, I did what we mummies do in such circumstances. I gave the "I don't have time for theology now" answer.
Me: Uhm, well gee, I don't really know.
Augustine: Oh. Because when I think of God, I think of a raspberry.
There really is no response to that. So I just left it alone.
(As a postscript, I should add that up until our recent move to France, both of our school aged children attended schools with religious affiliations. I guess this is why her comment makes me giggle a little. Just a completely random thought of a 6 year old.)

Ummm, wow! Now, I've never heard that one before. I'd be curious to know why a raspberry. Too funny though...gotta love kids!

Hmm... I guess its a good thing that you were busy as its given you time to think but I can understand why your a little stumped :). Its given you time to think if this topic comes up again.
I know religion is such a touchy subject. My husband and I are agnostic but we are watching our children explore Christianity with their Grandma. I'm supportive but vague about religion. I want them to learn and make decisions on their own, for themselves.
I'm delighted that she thinks of God as raspberry, how sweet. Punny!
