Countdown to the Great Blog-In

In my last post, some of you saw the CPSIA noted. And from what I've gathered through messages and speaking with people, a lot of people don't know what this is or who it effects.

In order to help people become more aware of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, we are organising a Blog-In for Wednesday, 28 January. These new laws which come into effect on February 10, 2009 are set to have a major impact on what American consumers can and cannot buy for their children.

Unfortunately we're not just talking about potentially dangerous products or the controversial violent video games. We're talking about things like the amazing handknit hat I bought for my son this winter. Or the simply gorgeous Matryoshka dolls I bought when my friend had her baby. I for one would be deeply saddened to see such items disappear.

But it doesn't stop there. We're also talking about things like library books and school supplies. Surprised?

For those of you who blog and who are concerned, we'd love to have you join us. If you have an Etsy shop, please see this thread. If you don't have an Etsy shop but are still interested in participating, please feel free to leave me a comment with your email and I will get back to you.
